Çavuşoğlu: “Criteria for pricing are important”
The Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Nazım Çavuşoğlu emphasized that the criteria for pricing on the water issue are important. Stating that as the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, they finalized their works on this issue and the price will be clearer after consultation with Turkey.
Çavuşoğlu assessed the water issue and the issues on the agenda about the agriculture sector at the “Yeni Gün” program on BRT.
Stating that the water price should be reasonable, Çavuşoğlu said, “The criteria for price determination are very important.” Çavuşoğlu also said that there will be a price difference between agricultural use and domestic water.
Furthermore, Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that as the Ministry, they are working intensively with the water committee and a large part of their works has been completed.
Denying the claims that their plans related to the distribution of the water on 15 May had changed, Çavuşoğlu said, “We stand by our words and we have completed most of the works.”
Çavuşoğlu also added that the water had been distributed to water pipes before that date and the distribution line is ready to reach everywhere………….
Çavuşoğlu to attend the “3rd Session of the OIC Conference of Ministers Responsible for Water”
The Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Nazım Çavuşoğlu will go to İstanbul upon the invitation of the Turkish Minister for Forestry and Water Works, Veysel Eroğlu to attend the “3rd Session of the OIC Conference of Ministers Responsible for Water”.
Çavuşoğlu will make a speech at the conference which will be held with the participation of 26 Ministers from 36 countries.
The Probation law for drug addicts and users approved
The “Probation Law for drug addicts and users” which was sent back to the Assembly by the President for further consideration, was discussed and approved by the General Assembly of the Parliament. The law, which was discussed in the relevant committee and some amendments were made, was accepted unanimously.
It was emphasized that the purpose of the law is to give a chance for a new life to the drug addiction people who do not produce or trade drugs against increasing drug abuse in the country.
Anastasiades expects efforts to be intensified after the elections on Sunday
Greek Cypriot Leader Nikos Anastasiades stated that he expects the efforts to reach a solution on the Cyprus problem will be intensified after the parliamentary elections on Sunday.
Anastasiades expressed his readiness and determination to continue this effort with good will.
Mentioning the ongoing efforts to resolve the Cyprus issue, Anastasiades said that he expects the efforts to find a solution to the Cyprus problem will be intensified.
Indicating that all the aspects of the Cyprus problem are on the table, Anastasiades said, “Soon we will be able to have a clearer picture regarding the negotiations.”
