North Cyprus – Art and Culture – BARNABAS, the Musical is coming to Kyrenia – 11th Nov. 16

BARNABAS, the Musical by Roger Jones

is coming to Kyrenia

By Carol Blackwell-Gibbs……..Northern Cyprus press officer…….

Monday evenings at St Andrew’s church hall have become very special thanks to a wonderful group of singers who have tackled the ‘Barnabas’ musical numbers with great enthusiasm and some brilliant sound, all very exciting. There are first timers as well as experienced singers amongst the choir of thirty.

After two months+ of rehearsals all of the songs in the Roger Jones musical have been covered. There are good learning materials so practice can continue between sessions, many are singing their way through household chores or behind the wheel in the car, the numbers are really catchy. ‘I’m alive’ is a phrase from one of the lively songs and we certainly feel it on Monday evenings!

Practice for the Barnabus event

With the heat of the summer and many members returning to the cooler climes of the UK and elsewhere, there are no rehearsals until October. Rehearsals resume at the beginning of October and for anyone wishing they had become involved in this joyful experience it is not too late. If you can commit to all five Monday evenings in October from 6pm you would be very welcome to join us. Please email your details to me (carol@cansigorta.com) and I will put you in touch with Lynette the choir mistress. Or, text Lynette on 0533 887 1417  after 14th September and she will make contact with you.

We are very grateful to Can Sigorta (Insurance) who have generously sponsored the advertising material, which will be distributed in late September.

Ticket information will be available closer to the performance date but make a note to attend a truly memorable evening on the 11th November 2016 in the rooftop theatre at the Colony Hotel.

Please keep November 11th free! This is an event not to be missed.
