Alice

Wonderland as you’ve never seen it before

News from ESK……

The English School of Kyrenia’s Secondary School Drama Department is proud to present its production of Laura Wade’s ‘Alice’, taking place on Thursdayesk-alice-image 10th and Friday 11th November 2016 at 7pm.

Wade’s version of ‘Alice’ is not a simple retelling of the Lewis Carroll classic. Our talented cast of youngsters aged 12 – 18 will lead you through a riveting journey where Alice is a young girl with a vivid imagination, and Wonderland becomes her escape from a less than perfect home life. You can still expect to see a world of white rabbits, talking caterpillars and grinning cats, but be prepared to question matters of life, love, death and grief.

We would like to invite audiences to join us at the ESK Grand Hall to experience this visually spectacular affair which highlights a hugely successful collaboration between the Drama and Art departments.

Tickets cost 10TL and can be bought at the box office in the ESK Reception during school working hours (0392 444 0375)……

Performances will start at 7pm promptly so the audience needs to be seated by 6.45pm. Latecomers will not be admitted until the interval so please don’t be late. Refreshments will be available for sale in the school coffee shop during the interval and so that you can see what we have in store for you we show below some pictures taken at our recent dress rehearsal.

About tfrsecretary

Born in Augsburg, Bavaria, Germany in 1957, I was educated at a Baccalaureate High School. Later completed Technical University with a degree in Economic Informatics. I served for 12 years in the German Army before joining a French computer company for another 10 years. Then ran my own motorcycle and gastronomy businesses before deciding to retire. I arrived in North Cyprus with my second wife in 2004 and since her sad loss in 2011, I have kept myself very busy trying to help others with similar problems and in 2012 became the Secretary of “The Foreign Residents in the TRNC” (TFR). I am very keen to see expat communities coming together and playing their part in helping North Cyprus, our adopted homeland.
