St Andrew’s Church, Kyrenia
Nativity Service on Christmas Eve
By Margaret Sheard…….
This is a busy time of the year for St Andrew’s Church, Kyrenia and the children have not been forgotten with a Nativity Service with a difference this year. Maybe there are grandparents visiting who would like to bring their grandchildren to the service which will start at 3pm on Saturday 24th December. This is a fun event and will appeal to all children no matter what religion or culture, the story is the same.
This is to be a “chocolate” nativity and the Rev’d Wendy Hough has let us into a little secret that she hopes the children will have “sharp ears” and be ready to call out when they hear the name of a chocolate or chocolate bar as the story is being told. Just as an example – the wise men looked out to the “MILKY WAY” and Rev’d Wendy’s favourite – Herod was up to his old “TWIX” again.
All of the children are invited to come dressed as their favourite nativity character and there will be prizes for the best costume as well as lots of chocolate when the names come up in the story and the children call it out. So pay attention children and see how much chocolate you can collect.
